  • Identifying points, lines, line segments, and rays
  • Identifying angles:  right, acute, obtuse, and straight
  • Identifying triangles:  right, acute, and obtuse
  • Identifying types of lines:  parallel, perpendicular, and intersecting
  • Identifying types of quadrilaterals and their characteristics:  parallelogram, rhombus, square, rectangle, and trapezoid

Can you believe it’s time for school!!!  I hope you have had a wonderful summer and are ready for 4th Grade!!!  Mark your calendars for Meet the Teacher, which will be on Thursday, August 21, from 4:30 to 5:30.  Bring your supplies and come to meet you your 4th grade team of teachers!

As your math teacher, I’m giving you some advice:  spend some time reviewing your multiplication facts because it’s VERY important to know them when you come to 4th grade!

Open House

I just want to invite you to our annual Fourth Grade Open House, Thursday, Sept. 5. from 5pm – 6pm!  You will be able to meet with Mrs. Carrington, Mrs. McCurdy  and Mrs. Lawrence and find out the scoop on how our team will be working with your student this year. Our team will meet together in Room 224.  I hope to see you there!

This was a great first day! The day went by so fast. Always remember to check your child’s planner for notes or homework assignments. Please send a bag (not backpack) for your student to use as they switch classes each day. A reusable grocery bag or cloth tote bag is ideal to keep their supplies organized as they travel between their three classrooms.

Thanks for a great beginning for this school. Your kids are great!

Welcome to Fourth Grade!

I can’t wait to greet you on Monday, August 26, for your first day in 4th grade. It will be a great year! I will meet you in the gym Monday morning by 8:00 am. I know you are looking forward to seeing your old friends and making new ones. We have many exciting things planned starting on the first day, so come ready to learn!
